Q: What do I get when I buy a Rapid Cooling Rug?

A: When you purchase one of the Rapid Cooling Rugs it comes ready to use and charged with coolant. You also receive a 500ml bottle of re-charge coolant and a special airtight plastic tub to store your rug. This is enough to get you started and will offer you upwards of 5 rug uses (depending on how long you utilise your rug for).

Q: What sizes do the Rapid Cooling Rugs come in?

A: The Rapid Cooling Rug has a unique design that will fit horses from 14hh upwards to over 17hh. This means you won’t need a different sized rug for each horse making it great value for money.

Q: How do I recharge my Rapid Cooling Rug and Bandages?

A: Recharging is simple! When recharging your rug, simply place the rug into your plastic storage tub (supplied when you buy your rug) and pour the liquid coolant over the rug till damp. Squeeze any excess coolant out over the tub and pour any excess back into the bottle. Your rug is now ready to use and will stay cool for around 3 hours on the horse. Should you wish to use your rug for shorter periods simply return the rug to its storage tub and lock the lid in place. This will keep your rug charged and ready to re-use and will maximise the value of each recharge.

Recharging your bandage is just as simple. Your bandage is supplied fully charged in a resealable foil pouch. After its first full use, simply wash the bandage, roll up and return to the foil pouch. If you are using the bandage for shorter periods, simply roll the bandage up and place back in the sealable pouch for future use. Coolant can be poured over the bandage directly in the pouch, any excess squeezed off over the pouch and excess poured back into the bottle. You can then use your bandage immediately or seal the pouch keeping it charged and ready to go when you need it. Perfect for the first aid kit.

Q: Do I need to dilute the coolant with anything?

A: No, your coolant comes ready to use in a handy airtight aluminium bottle. The same coolant is used on both the Rapid Cooler Rug and Bandages. There is no need to refrigerate and there is no need for messy mixing or dilution of the Equi-N-icE coolant. Just pour it on for an instantly cool rug or bandage.

Q: How many legs will each bandage cover?

A: Each bandage is sold as a single unit and will be enough to cover one leg. If you are using the cooling bandage for sporting recovery, or travel it may be necessary to have a couple of bandages on hand for each leg. Don’t forget they are perfect for horse owners to use too!

Q: How many uses can I expect to get from the Coolant bottles?

A: Cooling will always depend on the climatic conditions on the day of use, but typically when stored correctly you should expect to achieve the following cooling times from your liquid coolant recharge.
